Crazy IDP Idea...
What if our fantasy football defensive configurations had an impact on our opponent's offensive scoring?
It's easiest to explain what I mean with a few examples, using our new three IDP flex spots:
-- Play three defensive backs in your IDP flex spots, you are playing a NICKEL defense. Your opponent's quarterback's score is adjusted down 25%, WRs down 10%, but RBs up 20%.
-- Play a GOAL LINE defense by starting three DL. Opponent RBs score 25% less, QB up 10%, WR up 30%.
-- One DL, one LB, one DB = a BALANCED defense. The opponent's top scorer among the QB, RBs, WRs, and TE is reduced by 20% but the 2nd-highest scorer is improved by 20%.
Et cetera. There'd be a specific defensive impact for every possible alignment, all nine of them. (Right? It's nine, right?)
It's just an idea, and I'm not suggesting it for the CKL... yet. But it is something I'll cook behind the scenes during our Era of Stasis, 2013-2015.
