FAABnalysis -- 11/4/15

From my spot on the couch, there were three big auctions today.

DeAngelo Williams -- $69 to Derrick
Losing bids:
-- $68 to Paul
-- $66 to Norris
-- $59 to Joe
-- $50 to Rookie
-- $38 to Chad
-- $33 to Kirk
-- $27 to Kendall
-- $27 to Ben

Derrick played this one spectacularly well.  Simply, he bid exactly $1 more than anyone else (other than Corey) could have.  He played it perfectly, and he got his man.

Not sure DeAngelo steps right into Le'Veon Bell's production, but the first two weeks looked pretty good.  We know DeAngelo ain't a keeper, so this was Doc's attempt to shore up the KAG for the 2015 stretch run.  I like it!

What the hell is going on with your hair, dude?

Kendall Gaskins -- $23 to Kirk
Losing bids:
-- $0 to Norris

Who the fuck is Kendall Gaskins?

No, seriously.

Maybe he's the RB1 in San Francisco now?  I guess?  Pierre Thomas and Shaun Draughn may disagree.  Carlos Hyde is back by Thanksgiving, anyway.

This is the only picture ever taken of Kendall Gaskins.

Kamar Aiken -- $21 to Kendall
Losing bids:
-- $18 to Chad
-- $10 to Yado
-- $0 to Norris

With Smiff down for the count (and now no longer retiring at the end of the season?  Is that right?), Aiken is the Ratbirds' underwhelming WR1.  I'm obviously hoping that Aiken gets some of that 10-150-2 and 13-186-2 love that Smitty was getting from Flacco, but watch Crockett Fucking Gillmore be the one who ends up going supernova in Senior's absence.

Godspeed.

Theo Riddick -- $7 to Rookie
Riddick leads NFL running backs in targets and receptions, is second in RB receiving TDs and ranks fourth in RB receiving yards.  Any fears that the exit of former New Orleans offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi might mean less Saints-like throwing to the backs seemed to be alleviated in Week 8; more importantly, Riddick saw dramatically more field time than either Joique Bell or Ameer Abdullah -- 65% of the snaps for Theo vs. 28% for Joique and a mere 8% for Ameer.  Credit game flow if you wish, but the Detroit blueprint doesn’t seem likely to change.  Riddick isn’t a 20-touch per game guy (yet), but he’ll see a consistent stream of double-digit touches -- many of them in space, where he can do some damage.  Good claim, Rook.

Kwon Alexander -- $5 to Ben
Losing bids:
-- $4 to Paul
-- $2 to Russ
-- $1 to Kendall
-- $0 to Norris
-- $0 to Kirk

I love rookie linebackers, I just can't help myself.  Kwon might be the best of the bunch, and he straight ballin' for the improved Bucs.

Robert Woods -- $5 to Chad
Chad's Steve Smith replacement isn't especially sexy, but his 9-84-1 line from two weeks ago (with both Watkins and Harvin out of the lineup) was 14.4 solid points.

Jacob Tamme -- $4 to Russ
A fe of us lost the game of musical chairs that is the 2015 tight end position.  Russ is one of the losers (along with me, Corey, Joe, Norris, and Patrick), and as such, feels compelled to chase games like Tamme's 10-103-1 barnburner from Sunday.  Of course, it doesn't change the fact that Tamme is a 30-year old journeyman who only sporadically factors into the Falcs' gameplan.  It is what it is.  You lay out $4 and hope for the best.

Marques Colston -- $4 to Russ
Oh, shit!  This guy's still alive?  Cool, I bet he's got some great stories to tell his grandkids.

Pierre Thomas -- $1 to Chad
Seeing this is like a ninja star to the back of your neck, after you dropped $23 on some dude named Kendall Gaskins.

Coby Fleener -- $1 to Kendall
Hey, at least I didn't draft him at the beginning of the 3rd round.

Andre Johnson -- $0 to Norris
The world loves tryers.

Jared Cook -- $0 to Nathan // Clive Walford -- $0 to Joe
Tight ends are officially like kickers.
