Keeper Analysis - Kick Azz Giants

Chris Johnson, RB, Tennessee Titans
Wes Welker, WR, New England Patriots
Greg Jennings, WR, Green Bay Packers

Long known for MacGyvering (that's a word!) his way to the playoffs by piecing together a weapon made up of Phillip Rivers and a bunch of spare parts, Doc goes into the 2012 CKL season with a full arsenal of blue chip players. Doc was handed this trio at the trade deadline last year and fell flat on his face yet again in the playoffs - so what does that mean for the upcoming year?

Chris "Knucklehead" Johnson
Just recently CJ stated that he could beat Usain Bolt in a footrace, but quite frankly after seeing him live last year I'd be suprised if he could have beaten me in a sprint. Most experts say he's due for a big rebound this year, and that could very well be true. The Titans have done much to improve their O-line in the offseason, not to mention Chris is in camp rather than on his couch in Florida playing Halo. Coach Munchak has stated that Tennessee will open up their passing game more this year, and this could provide a boost to CJs productivity as not only does he have good hands but defenses won't be able to stack the box knowing that the Titans will be running the ball every other down. I look for Johnson to maybe not return to pre-2011 numbers, but get close.

Wes Welker
At 20th overall in ESPNs preseason rankings, Wes is positioned to have another banner year in the Patriot Passing Machine. Couple that with Welker playing under the franchise tag and wanting the big pay day in 2013, he could be lights out. But don't be so quick to pencil Wes in as a top 10 receiver for 2012 ... Gronk, Hernandez, and Pretty Boy's new toy - Brandon Lloyd could limit his production - especially in the red zone. If the CKL were a PPR league, Wes would be top 5, but it's not - so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I don't think he'll eclipse 200 fantasy points this year, but he'll be in the high 100s and Doc will take that all day long.

Greg Jennings
Hoo wouldn't want the #1 wide receiver catching balls from the consensus #1 quarterback every Sunday? Well, several people - as Jennings has been traded mercilessly these last few years in the CKL. With the emergence of Jordy Nelson, some would say Jennings isn't even Rodgers' #1 anymore, as he fell short of 1000 yards last year (although missing the final 4 weeks of the regular season tends to do that to a WR). Jennings is no burner, but his crisp route running and willingness to go after anything thrown to him guarantees that the ball will be coming his way on the regular. Jennings has some injury concerns (knees/ head), but he is relatively reliable. You can pretty much Greg netting you around 12 points per week, not much more and not much less - not bad for KAGs WR2.

Since I traded all three of these players to Doc late last season, I was hoping the bad mojo went with them - and sure enough it did, as what should have been - never was for the KAG. I'm not sure Doc's gonna know what to do with this much talent all at once, but he's always a force to be reckoned with. Give MacGyver some uranium rather than a stick of gum and a paper clip and it's a recipe for disaster, though. For the sake of the Kick Azz Giants, Doc should make some pre-draft trades - take T.O. and Chad Ochocinco in the first and second rounds, and he'll return to his usual spot in the playoffs. Otherwise, KABOOM!!!
