Well once again Russ rolls into the CKL season with good ol' Trusty and Rusty, Andre Johnson and Drew Brees. How many years has Russ been hanging onto these gu-
WAIT WHA????? No AJ?? No Drew Brees? You gotta be kidding me! Lost in the misery of my own miserable 2011 season, I neglected to properly notice and appreciate that Russ pulled off some pretty big moves. If I remember correctly, he pulled Murray of FAAB and made trades for Gronk and Fitz. Well played, sir! Those trades look pretty good right now.
Anyways, I like team Magic Stick better this year than ever before. We’re so used to the Stick entering the season with Brees, Andre, and [insert D-BAG here] it’s really nice to see Russ go into the draft with a full stable of talented players. Fitz, Murray, and Gronk are all sure-fire 1st / 2nd rounders in a redraft. With the 4th pick in this years draft, Russ has a very solid opportunity to field a
The only minor concerns:
- Kevin Kolb is a bum. I know. I drafted him last year. Nonetheless, Larry gets it done, and his floor is pretty high.
- The Cowboys throw the ball on ≈80% of their redzone possessions. Murray is an emerging talent, but Russ has to rely on 'Jerry's boy-genius' aka 'Josh McDaniels 2.0' aka 'head coach Jason Garrett' to give him the ball when it counts.
- No worries about Gronk. I mean what can you say about this guy? He bags pornstars? Oops. Sorry. He's a good football player. How's that?
Make no mistake, folks, The Magic Stick is for real this year [but don't they look good every August?]. TMS enters the draft with a top-shelf set of keepers. Only the Roo Tang Clan (Stafford/McCoy/Forte) and Pink Nightmare (Foster/Graham/AJ Green) are clearly superior in terms of pure value as 2012 players. The door is open, Russ! Build a B+ team around these A keepers and you’re in the playoffs. Do it for the underachievers!!
Paul coming out STRONG.
