Week 7: Predictions and Promises: Part 2 - Sanford Showdown

Thunder Bear (3-3) at Sic Semper Tyrannis Rex (1-5)
ESPN Gameline: Nathan by 6.9

I spent way too much time on this match-up but both are smart owners and its interesting for me to look at the mid season moves.

Rookie I know this is hard to read but you are out of the playoffs.  Ben put you out last week.  If you want to point to where it all went wrong, it was getting your ass stomped by 44 points.

If you win out you would finish at 8-5 and that does not get it done with your point total.  If you were imaging a world this week where what you did with your team mattered in terms of this season, you were fooling yourself.

I say this to focus you mind toward the future.  You have 5 weeks to trade your way to 3 keepers and that is a huge advantage over the rest of us who are still clinging to a hope of beating Kendall in the finals.

Let's see how you spent the week...

October 15

  • TREX dropped Marcel Reece, Oak RB to Waivers
  • BSB traded Kenbrell Thompkins, NE WR to TREX
  • BSB traded Randall Cobb*, GB WR to TREX
  • TREX traded Alshon Jeffery, Chi WR to BSB

I like this trade for you Rookie because it's gives you some okay keeper options for the end of the year and though Alshon Jeffery (WR) may be a "better" player it's matchup dependent who is going to score more between him and a healthy Cobb (WR).

In a league of this size, giving up a WR as the best player in a trade isn't the worst thing a team can do. Rookie just needs to consider whether the loss is something that they can afford. With a 14 team league, this might be difficult.

Overall, I think Rookie is giving the most in this deal. The margin appears to be a significant difference. Rookie  should decline this trade.

October 16

  • TREX dropped Rashad Jennings, Oak RB to Waivers
  • TREX added Khiry Robinson, NO RB from Waivers to Bench for $2

It could be something...1-5 you have to try.

There is a lot of wishing for your team this week and bad matchups.

Nathan made lot of little nip and tucks this week.

October 15th

  • BEAR dropped Jerome Simpson, Min WR to Waivers
  • BEAR added Kenny Stills, NO WR from Waivers to Bench for $8

I think you made the right call here with the drop instead of working a trade.  Even though there turned out to be a market for Simpson, what are you going to barter for on Alan's Ship of Lost Souls?

  • BEAR dropped Garrett Graham, Hou TE to Waivers
  • BEAR added Joseph Fauria, Det TE from Waivers to Bench for $6

Tight end is an open sore on the Bear.  This is Nate trying to patch things up.

  • BEAR dropped Jerod Mayo*, NE LB to Waivers
  • BEAR added Robert Quinn, StL DE from Waivers to Bench for $0

IDP bs

October 18th

  • BEAR dropped Joseph Fauria, Det TE to Waivers
  • BEAR added Zach Ertz, Phi TE from Waivers to Bench for $0

Here is the buried headline: Nathan dropped the guy on Friday he $6 he spend on Wednesday.  I get you can't keep them both, but I...hmmm maybe Ertz (TE) is the right call.  It would have been nice to keep them both.

  • BEAR dropped Justin Tucker, Bal K to Waivers
  • BEAR added Phil Dawson, SF K from Waivers to Bench for $0

Kicker shit, don't matter who cares.

Nathan  it's too bad that Vick (QB) did not play this week against the Cowboys.  That was a prime 30+ point game for him.  You still have the edge with B Marshall (WR) and V Jax (WR) in prime match-ups of their own. RGIII (WB) fucking disappointment that he is may be +20 but that will be a struggle.  #18 in position rank, what the fuck. I hate the Redskins, they will suck the good out of any player.

Nathan you get to lose one more time this season please don't let it be to your kid brother.
